A 46-year-old United States (US) national filed a case at the Mahila Police Station here on Thursday, alleging that she was gang-raped by two unidentified men.

"I had gone to shop at a market on September 14 when two people attacked me from behind," said the woman, who had come from California a week ago.

A case under Section 376 in the Indian Penal Code has been registered.

"Spot inspection and medical examination of complainant has been done. The matter is being investigated," said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Renu Sharma.
