India has won a record five bilateral series for the first time against the West Indies following their five-wicket win over the visitors in the third and final one-day international (ODI) in Kanpur on Wednesday.
Indian batsman Shikhar Dhawan has become the first player this year to post six international centuries following his 119 in the game, which led him to become the Man of the Match.
Dhawan's 119 off 95 balls is his career-best score in ODIs, eclipsing the 116 off 127 balls vs. Zimbabwe at Harare on July 26, 2013.
With the victory, India cruised to sixth successive one-day series win for the second time in ODIs, the first between August 2008 and September 2009.
Against the West Indies, India has till now won five bilateral series in 2006-07, 2009, 2011, 2011-12 and 2013-14.
