Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Nalin Kohli on Saturday said that the arrest of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) spokesperson Dilip Pandey proves that the party can even go to the extent of dividing society for political benefits.
"The Dilip Pandey incident proves that AAP can even attempt to divide the society for political benefits. At least the posters reflect that. Those posters could have started riots and therefore, stringent actions should be taken against him. I am not only criticizing the posters but also the person who put it up," said Kohli.
BJP leader Prabhat Jha said that Pandey should be tried under the National Security Act.
"Not only should AAP's Dilip Pandey have been arrested, he should also be tried under National Security Act for putting up those provocative posters," said Jha.
Yesterday, Pandey and a few other AAP members were arrested under non-bailable Sections 153 and 295 of the Indian Penal Code for allegedly instigating people and putting up posters with provocative message against Congress MLAs in Jamia Nagar area of South Delhi.
According to the police, Congress MLAs alleged that the posters, along with provocative message have been put up by AAP to divide the community.
