Top seed Novak Djokovic secured his 250th ATP World Tour Masters 1000 match win after battling past Thomaz Bellucci in straight sets in the opening round of the Rogers Cup on Wednesday.

The Serbian saved all five break points as he overcame Brazil's Bellucci 6-3, 7-6(4) in a contest that lasted one hour and 49 minutes.

Djokovic, a three-time Rogers Champion, will next face either No. 14 seed Grigor Dimitrov or Jack Sock in the second round.
