Indian ace shuttler P.V Sindhu produced a resilient performance on Tuesday as she cruised past her Danish opponent Line Kjaersfeldt in three sets to reach the third round of the World Championships at Jakarta.
The 11th seed Indian recovered from a shaky start to eventually beat Line Kjaersfeldt 11-21, 21-17, 21-16 in an enthralling contest that lasted over 50 minutes.
Sindhu, the two-time World Championship bronze medallist, will next face reigning Olympic champion and third seed Li Xuerui in the third round.
Meanwhile, Kidambi Srikanth claimed a comfortable 21-10, 21-13 win over Australia's Michael Fariman in the opening round of the men's singles event in 24 minutes.
