World number two Novak Djokovic is reportedly harbouring no regrets even though his 25-match win streak at the Australian Open was ended by Switzerland's Stanislas Wawrinka in the quarter-finals on Tuesday.

The four-time Serbian champion was defeated by Wawrinka 2-6, 6-4, 6-2, 3-6, 9-7, which gave him revenge for his defeat by Djokovic in another epic battle at the same stage last year.

However, Sport24 reports that Djokovic said that even though he is disappointed, he has no complaints at the result as he lost to the better player, adding that he needs to accept the fact that he cannot always win every match that he plays.

Stating that he is proud of the fact that he gave his best, Djokovic also said that although he fought all the way through and laid his heart out in the match, one of them had to lose as it was a battle, adding that as Wawrinka was the better player, he stepped in and won the game.

Djokovic, who was bidding to become the first man in the open era to win the title four times in a row, congratulated Wawrinka on his win, which is arguably the biggest win of his career.
