Former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid has been named as mentor of the Delhi Daredevils for the upcoming ninth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The 43-year-old will work with a team of assistants: Zubin Bharucha (technical director), former India batsmen Sridharan Sriram and Praveen Amre (batting coaches), and former Tamil Nadu and India fast bowler T A Sekhar (bowling consultant), ESPNcricinfo reported.
Besides Dravid, former South Africa and India assistant coach Paddy Upton has been appointed as head coach.
Meanwhile, Delhi Daredevils have axed former South Africa batsman and coach Gary Kirsten after the side finished bottom in the IPL table in 2014 and second from the bottom last year.
The team have also sacked Kirsten's assistant Rob Walters.
The IPL 2016 is slated to be held from April 9 to May 29.
