Residents of the Khudwani Village in the Kulgam region of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday participated in the boycott of the ongoing legislative assembly elections in the state.
The villagers also indulged in stone pelting of security forces deployed in the area.
"We are pelting stones because there should be a boycott of the polls. We have been oppressed and the ruling parties never come to our aide," one of the protesters told ANI.
Other regions of the state have so far reported no signs of protests or violence.
After a slow start to the second phase of the elections, the polling has picked up pace, with 32.03 percent of the voters having taken part in the democratic process as of 12 noon.
