At least 11 people lost their lives when a van carrying a marriage party collided with a truck West Bengal's Jalpaiguri district on Friday.
The accident took place when the marriage party was returning from the wedding.
While seven people died on the spot, the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital.
"On the spot seven people were dead and here in the hospital four of them had already died. Three were, perhaps, not brought here. So, there are total eleven who have died," said Doctor Arindam Adhikari.
The injured included women and children.
"It was a wedding vehicle. I came to know that they were returning after a wedding ceremony. Both the bride and the groom were dead," Manatosh Saha, an eye-witness, said.
Three of the injured are said to be in a critical state.
