Emile Hirsch, who was charged with aggravated assault, which is punishable by up to five years in prison and a 5,000 dollars fine, for allegedly putting a female film executive in a headlock at a party in January, has checked himself into rehab.
The American actor has been charged with assault in Utah after he allegedly put a woman in a chokehold until she nearly passed out during the Sundance Film Festival, TMZ.com reported.
Police stated that the 29-year-old actor appeared intoxicated and asked movie exec Daniele Bernfeld why she looked "so tough" and said she was a "rich kid" who should not be at Sundance.
