Tennis fans, Rejoice! The first trailer of the much-awaited movie 'Battle of the Sexes' is finally out and it has everything that you ever wanted.
The movie's official Twitter page shared the trailer which narrates the story of the 1973 Tennis match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs.
The trailer opens with Bobby Riggs (Steve Carell) ringing Billie Jean King (Emma Stone), in the middle of the night telling her, "I have a great idea! Male chauvinist pig versus hairy-legged feminist!"
Not amused by his sarcasm, Billie Jean replies, "I am a tennis player who happens to be a woman."
Although she initially turns him down, the retired pro continued to provoke King with provocative interviews and rude displays.
Finally, she agrees to the match giving her smack-talking rival a taste of his own medicine.
The trailer concludes with Billie saying, "Keep talking Bobby, the more nonsense you spout, the worse it's going to be when you lose" to arrogant Bobby.
'Battle of the Sexes' recalls the showdown between world no. 1 King and retired champ and serial hustler Riggs that became one of the most-watched televised sporting events of all time.
The match sparked a global conversation on gender equality, spurring on the feminist movement, while King and Riggs fought more personal and complex battles - King with her sexuality and her plight for equal pay, and Riggs with protecting his reputation while reliving his glory days.
Helmed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, the flick also stars Alan Cumming, Andrea Riseborough, Elizabeth Shue, Austin Stowell and Sarah Silverman.
