South African golfer Ernie Els has admitted that he still wants to don the Green Jacket, saying that he would still desperately love to win the Masters before he calls time on his career.

The South African has not won since June 2013 when he lifted the BMW International Open trophy, while his last major triumph came over Adam Scott at the 2012 Open.

Els, who has had a hard time to come by wins in the last 18 months, is not ready to give up on his Masters dream just yet. He said that when he was young, he was very cocky and thought that he was going to win all the majors by nomination, Sport24 reported.

Els claimed that he thought the Masters was going to be the first one he would win and then The Open, and then the US Open and US PGA Championship. He added that he hasn't won the Masters so far and he hasn't won the US PGA, so he is going to try to win the Masters before he retires.

Els said that that would possibly be his biggest career achievement.

The prospect of winning still excites Els and keeps him going, as does his competitive spirit.

Els said that he has been competing since he was 10 years old in a lot of different sports adding that it's in his blood. He said that he is still trying, and added that he wants to try and win one or two more majors before he is totally done.
