England skipper Alastair Cook has said that he has to wait and see whether he would remain as team's captain after incurring fourth one-day series loss under his leadership.
Sri Lanka clinched seven match ODI series 5-2 against England as they inflicted 87-run defeat on the visitors in the final match in Colombo.
Cook, who scored 523 runs at an average of 27.52 in previous 20 one-day internationals, stated that he hadn't scored the runs in the way he would have liked to have and would have to wait and see whether the selectors choose him for the captaincy role.
He further said that he was incredibly hungry to do well, adding that his ODI performances this year hadn't been good enough and he would have no complaints if the decision went the other way, the BBC reported.
Earlier in the week, head coach Moores said that Cook's performance, along with others would be reviewed.
England selectors James Whitaker, Peter Moores, Angus Fraser and Mick Newell will announce a 16-man squad on Saturday, to head to Australia next month for a tri-series against the hosts and India.
