Ethan Hawke will play the role of Chet Baker, the legendary jazz trumpeter, in the upcoming biopic dubbed as 'Born To Be Blue.'
Written and directed by Canadian filmmaker Robert Budreau, the drama has been inspired by Baker's rise, fall and eventual resurgence, Deadline.com reported.
Budreau has previously worked on the music-related projects including the short Dream Recording with jazz pianist David Braid, and a short about Baker's ultimate demise, 'The Deaths Of Chet Baker.'
The project also includes Carmen Ejogo and Callum Keith Rennie.
