Former Pakistan captain Saleem Malik has slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for refusing to review his life ban over alleged match fixing in 2008.

Malik, who played 103 Tests and 283 one-day internationals, is also upset with the PCB for not recognising a welfare association in which he is actively involved to hold a benefit match at the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore.

According to The Nation, Malik said that he is fed up of the 'double standards' of the ICC and the PCB, saying that although the sessions court lifted his life ban in 2008 following repeated appeals, the board refused to accept the judgement and reopen his case.

Citing the examples of former Indian players Mohammed Azharuddin and Ajay Jadeja, Malik said that although the duo were also banned for life, they were allowed back into the Indian cricketing fold after they won their court cases.

Malik further said that it is sad that the PCB is appealing to the ICC to reduce the life ban of the banned Mohammad Amir and is not even willing to review his life ban.
