German employees will reportedly be allowed to turn up late for work the following morning if they have been watching 2014 FIFA World Cup matches late into the previous night.
The stereotypical image of German work place efficiency will be changed if worker's unions succeed in pushing through an agreement with many major employers so that staff can turn up late for work if they have been watching the football.
According to Metro.co.uk, a union chief said that it would be a noble move by employers if they showed a bit of flexibility during the World Cup games for Germany, which start after ten in the night.
The union chief also said that employers and work councils should talk about rearranging shifts if needed so their staff can enjoy the World Cup games and the report added that a number of organisations have already switched shifts for some staff who were due to start at six in the morning.
