18-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer has climbed up four places to the sixth spot in the latest ATP rankings after lifting his fifth Indian Wells Masters title.

As a result, Federer leapfrogged arch-rival Rafael Nadal, who got eliminated at the hand of the Swiss maestro in the fourth round in California.

Federer on Sunday once again displayed why he is called a legend as he defeated Stan Wawrinka 6-4, 7-5 in an all-Swiss final that lasted for one hour and 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, Andy Murray continues to remain at the top spot despite his second-round exit from Indian Wells while Novak Djokovic, who also made an early exit in the Southern Californian desert, retained the second spot ahead of third-placed Wawrinka.

The current ATP top 10 are :

1. Andy Murray

2. Novak Djokovic

3. Stan Wawrinka

4. Kei Nishikori

5. Milos Raonic

6. Roger Federer

7. Rafael Nadal

8. Dominic Thiem

9. Marin Cilic

10. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
