The Delhi Police has said that an FIR has been registered in a prisoner's escape from police custody.
"A prisoner, who was brought to a hospital for checkup, managed to flee after his associates threw chilli powder in the eyes of policemen from Maulana Azad Medical College," said Central Delhi's Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) MS Randhawa.
He added that the policemen who were escorting the prisoner have been suspended from their duties.
"Cops escorting the prisoner have been suspended. An FIR has been registered and the probe is on," the DCP said.
The policemen who were guarding the prisoner are from the Third Battalion of the Delhi Armed Police.
