Police in Bangladesh capital Dhaka have confirmed the arrest of five militants of the banned Islamist outfits Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) and Harkatul Jihad (Huji).
The five were arrested last night and were held in separate drives conducted by members of Detective Branch (DB) of Police, reports the Daily Star.
The paper quoted Masudur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (Media) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, as saying that the detainees included two members of the JMB and three of the Huji.
He added, "Electronic circuits used for remote-controlled bombs were seized from them."
Details of the detainees will be disclosed at a press briefing today.
