Former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff is reportedly set to make a comeback to cricket as he is said to be in talks with county cricket club Lancashire for this season's Twenty20 Blast.
Flintoff, who has not played professional cricket since 2009, had a short spell as a professional boxer after retiring from the sport, but the all-rounder has recently been training with Lancashire.
The BBC reports that Flintoff is unlikely to play in Lancashire's first game at Nottinghamshire on Friday because of an ankle injury.
However, talks regarding the former all-rounder taking a formal coaching role within the T20 set-up are reportedly at an advanced stage.
The prospects of Flintoff playing in the opening game of the revamped T20 Blast at Nottinghamshire are reportedly low because he injured an ankle in fielding practice last week, and the all-rounder is also unlikely to be fit for the match against Worcestershire Rapids at Old Trafford a day after that.
However, it would be only a matter of time before Flintoff is back in action again, the report added.
