Former IPS officer Kuldip Sharma joined Congress Party here on Wednesday.
He was inducted into the party in presence on Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee chief Bharatsinh Solanki.
"Indian National Congress has a great history ever since it was established on December 26, 1885. It won three wars for the country first in 1948, then in 1965 and again in 1971," he told media here.
He further said that Congress had resilience, strength and quality to serve the nation and the people.
Sharma, during his tenure in CID (crime), had taken on Amit Shah, who was then minister of state for home, in connection with the Madhavpura Mercantile Co-operative Bank (MMCB) case.
