Former England international Paul Gascoigne, popularly known as 'Gazza', has reportedly been taken to hospital with after suffering a broken arm after making a sentimental return to play football again at his professional debut club Newcastle United.

Gazza, who had been playing alongside coaches including fellow retired England international Peter Beardsley, had been spotted looking happy and relaxed during the game and enjoying a kickabout on his old stomping ground, when he sustained the injury.

According to the Daily Mirror, Gazza has been taken to a hospital with a suspected broken arm and got treated there after the match today.

The former midfielder might be kept in the hospital overnight for observation.

A source said that Gazza had been a surprise for the staff playing in the game, adding that he had been a special guest organised by Beardsley and looked well, fit and tanned when he turned up with his family.

The source said that Gazza really enjoyed the game and it had been great to watch the former midfielder back in action, but he sustained an injury and it looked like he had broken his arm.

The source added that Gazza was taken to the nearest hospital from the ground, where they confirmed that his arm is really broken.

The source added that everyone at the club hopes that he is well and wishes him a speedy recovery.
