Expressing delight over his interaction with the panchayat members, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that he had urged them to bring about a qualitative change in their respective villages.
"Glad to have interacted with Panchayat members on National Panchayati Day. Sharing my speech," Prime Minister Modi said on twitter.
"Urged Panchayat members from all over India to work with a 5 year vision to bring about a qualitative change in their respective villages," he added.
Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister had vowed to bring change and development to villages within five years, adding that a combination of budget and leadership will help achieve this goal.
He had also called for more effort from government officials in villages and added that we will not be able to develop the villages till we don't respect and develop an attachment for villages.
