Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued a warning for the fishermen in Goa advising them not to venture in the sea due to strong winds that are likely to be recorded during the next two days.
"Strong winds with speed reaching 40-50 km/h, are likely to prevail over west-central and southwest Arabian Sea from Sept 11 to Sept 13. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas during the above," a bulletin issued by the IMD said.
"High waves in the range of 3.4 - 3.6 meters are forecasted during 5:30 pm on Sept 8 to 11:30 pm on Sept 9 along the coast of Goa from Vengurla to Vasco," it added.
Yesterday, the weather forecast agency predicted heavy rainfall at isolated places in Goa over the next five days.
