GOC 15 Corps Lieutenant General Subrata Saha on Thursday confirmed the involvement of militants in the recent attacks in Sopore, and added that the army is determining the motive behind the incidents.
"A new challenge has emerged in the security calculus. We are looking into all facts and determining what could be the motive behind it. We are actively at it and I am sure the situation will be stabilised.
Obviously, there is involvement of militants in this," Lt. Gen. Saha told media here.
On Wednesday, one man was shot dead by militants in Sopore, where a BSNL mobile tower was installed. This followed an attack by unidentified gunmen on a BSNL office, leaving one employee killed and two others injured on Monday.
