R.N. Ravi, the government interlocutor for Naga peace talks, met the Civil Society Organizations (CSO) representatives here to expedite the NSCN-IM peace accord.

"I have come here to have consultation with the Civil Society, I have already consulted some of them and consulting them is an ongoing process," Ravi told reporters after his arrival at Imphal Tulihal Airport here yesterday.

When asked about the NSCN-IM's proposal for demand of three states in Naga areas to be governed by the NSCN-IM, the interlocutor said that there were no such demands, adding that he did not know from where such a matter came up.

Base on a leaked document, Imphal Times had earlier reported that the NSCN-IM is preparing to propose three state formula for Naga region by carving out portions of territory from Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur.

The newspaper had also reported that the NSCN-IM is demanding restoration of the land from Assam to Nagas or payment of compensation for the land allegedly occupied by the Assam Government.

On being asked about the charter of demands which has been submitted by the Civil Society organizations during his last visit, Ravi said, "When we converse with each other we don't have a fix position, but we have to understand each other, because much of the problem comes out of misunderstanding."

Leaders of two major apex bodies of Manipur's Civil Society Organisation - the All Manipur United Club Organisations (AMUCO) and the United Committee Manipur (UCM) - would hold a meeting with the government interlocutor.

AMUCO's general secretary Phurailatpam Devan said that they would not submit any memorandum to the government interlocutor but will talk about the charter of demands they had already submitted to him during his last visit.
