Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday assured the ex-servicemen that his government would soon resolve the One Rank, One Pension issue.
"To our brave army personnel and ex-servicemen... I am not talking as a PM. For 40 years the question of One Rank, One Pension has been persisting," Prime Minister Modi said while addressing the nation on his eighth edition of 'Mann Ki Baat' programme,
"Not much has happened so far. I assure you that this government and I repeat, this government will give the solution to One Rank, One Pension," he added.
One Rank, One Pension scheme has been a long-standing demand of ex-servicemen's associations and relates to payment of uniform pension to defence forces personnel retiring in the same rank with the same length of service, irrespective of their date of retirement.
