The quality of environment has dipped to an extent that it has endangered the existence of human and animal life on the earth. A researcher, through his writing makes an attempt to create an awareness regarding the impact of human induced climate change on economy, environment and society.

The book titled 'Lucy and the Train' creates a futuristic scenario on the perils of a resource intensive economic growth path on human society, environment. It posits a scenario analysis on the impacts of the human civilization and industrialization process on the future generation through a philosophical, science fiction and fantasy narrative.

The attempt to present the possibilities of future through a popular medium of science fiction, semi fantasy with a philosophical journey through a train is a novel attempt made in the book for the first time across the world. It is the first of its attempt to write about various domains of sustainability science, issues of climate change, environmental degradation, economic growth process.

The launch of Sustainable Developmental Goals by United Nations raises hope for a progressive human society and adding, the upcoming Conference of Parties (COP) 21 in Paris will bring leaders together for a worldwide agreement in reducing carbon emission and human induced impacts of climate change.

"With respect to the social domain, it touches upon issues of human consciousness, perceptions, feelings, objectivity in a metaphysical sense. Regarding the environmental domain it focuses on issues of human induced climate change, environmental pollution," said Anandajit Goswami a research Scholar and author of "Lucy and The Train". The research scholar is working with The Energy and the Resources Institute.
