'Guardians of the Galaxy' tops 2014 summer movies chart at U.S box office

James Gunn's 'Guardians of the Galaxy' has grabbed the first spot on the domestic summer chart by earning the most among the summer movies in North America.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Marvel Studios and Disney movie is expected to earn 246 million dollars outsmarting the 'Transformers: Age of Extinction', which earned the amount of 243.3 million dollars at the box office.

The third name in the top earning summer movies list is 'Maleficent' with 237 million dollars and Fox's 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' slipped into the fourth spot with 232.6 million dollars.
