At least two hotels in the central Malian town of Sevare have come under attack after gunmen on motorbikes opened fire, said witnesses.

According to the BBC, it is not yet clear if there are any casualties.

Residents in the area are hiding in their homes.

One resident said that they heard someone shouting into a loudhailer that everyone should go inside.

There are several hotels near each other in the town and it is not exactly clear which of these were targeted.
