Niloy Neel , a Bangladeshi blogger known for his secular views, was hacked to death today by a machete-wielding gang in the East Goran area of Dhaka.

According to the BBC, six attackers tricked their way into Neel's home by saying they were looking to rent a flat in the area.

Neel was on a list of bloggers viewed as targets by the militants, said Imran H., head of the Bangladesh Blogger and Activist Network.

The incident took place barely two months into the brutal killing of blogger and online activist Ananta Bijoy Das, which itself followed the killing of Oyasiqur Rahman Babu.
