Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur's quick-fire half-century went in vain as the Indian women's cricket team slumped to a three-match T20 series whitewash against West Indies following their 15-run defeat in the final match at the Dr. Gokaraju Liala Gangaaraju ACA Cricket Ground here on Tuesday.
Opting to bat first, openers Hayley Matthews (47) and Stafanie Taylor (44) shared a crucial 61-run partnership to propel their side post a respectable target of 140 runs.
For India, Poonam Yadav bagged two wickets while Ekta Bisht and Jhulan Goswami also chipped in with a wicket each.
In reply, India were restricted to 124 runs in their stipulated 20 overs despite some resilient efforts by Harmanpreet (unbeaten at 61) and Veda Krishnamurthy (unbeaten at 30).The Indian duo also shared a 92-run stand, the highest partnership of the match.
India had lost the first two T20s by six wickets and 31 runs, respectively.
