English boxing star David Haye has slammed his rival Tyson Fury as a fool for dismissing him as an 'arrogant, blown-up cruiserweight' and said that Fury's comments are a sign of his lack of confidence
According to the Daily Star, Haye and Fury will meet in a massive domestic heavyweight dust-up at the Manchester Arena on September 28.
The unbeaten 6ft 9in Fury had mocked the much smaller and lighter Haye back in July in a press conference, saying that Haye will be no match for him and will have no answer to his power and punching.
Fury further compared Haye to his latest victim Steve Cunningham, a former IBF world cruiserweight champion whom he defeated in seven rounds last December.
However, Haye, a former undisputed world cruiserweight champion, hit back, saying that Fury needs confidence and needs to make those comparisons, adding that as he is a 'bit of a fool', it is not surprising for make him to make such comments.
Dismissing Fury's statement that two people can be the same type of fighter if they are of a similar size, Haye also said that he has been a heavyweight for many years, despite his size, while Cunningham had just entered the heavyweight division
Haye further said that unlike Cunningham, if he hits Fury, then Fury would be out for the count.
