Helen Mirren has announced that she won't be doing the role of Queen Elizabeth II in Netflix's highly-anticipated new royal drama series 'The Crown'.
'The Queen' actress seemed very adamant about her non-participation in Netflix's forthcoming project and explained that everyone need to move on someday or the other and wished that the team would surely find many wonderful actresses, BBC News reported.
The 69-year-old English actress added that it was a compliment that they didn't ask her, because they knew that it would not be the right thing to do.
Netflix's upcoming 10-episode royal series, which is created by writer Peter Morgan and director Stephen Daldry and is set for 2016, is based on the stage play and focuses on the Queen's meetings with her Prime Ministers over many decades.
