Dean O'Gorman will portray the iconic actor Kirk Douglas in the upcoming biopic 'Trumbo.'
O'Gorman, 37, who played a dwarf in Peter Jackson's 'The Hobbit' adaptations, would star alongside Bryan Cranston in the Dalton Trumbo project, which would be helmed by Jay Roach, the Hollywood Reporter reported.
Cranston would play the screenwriter, who was blacklisted in Hollywood's golden age for his ties to the Communist party, in the indie film, which also stars David James Elliot as John Wayne, Michael Stuhlbarg as actor Edward G. Robinson, Diane Lane as Trumbo's wife and Helen Mirren as gossip columnist Hedda Hopper.
The film, which has already begun production in New Orleans is being produced by Michael London and his Groundswell.
