Joshua Wong, the student leader of the Hong Kong democracy protests, will be put on trial in connection with charges relating to the storming of the government headquarters nearly a year ago.
According to the Guardian, Wong pleaded not guilty to charges of inciting and participating in an illegal assembly at a magistrate court on Wednesday.
The 18-year-old led the protest movement last year against Beijing's plan to restrict elections for the top leader of the semi-autonomous Chinese city.
The trial is set for October 30. Two other student leaders also pleaded not guilty at the same hearing.
