Along with happiness and tons of colors, Holi can bring a lot of stress on your hair.
To avoid damaging your hair, moisturize your hair in the days that lead up to the festival.
Rod Anker, Creative Director of Monsoon Salon and Spa, said that the biggest mistake we tend to make is not doing regular moisture packs for hair because these treatments ensure that the cuticle is closed, therefore ensuring that no Holi colors enter into the hair shaft.
Trichologist Dr Apoorva Shah advised oiling your hair everyday for a week prior to Holi with a concoction of olive, jojoba and rosemary oil as it will nourish your hair and begin closing the cuticles.
On the day of the festival, many swear by dousing the hair with oil so a protective layer is formed between hair and colours, but if experts are to be believed, one should begin preventing damage by opting for specialized hair treatments.
