Lady Gaga has confessed that she sees herself as a shell of her former self after leading a 'painful' life.
Gaga, who went topless for a muddy grungy pose in V Magazine said that the particular look was very hard for her, as that was how she used to look when she was 19-21-years old, Metro.co.uk reported .
The 'Judas' hitmaker said that she got her hair chopped like that when she was 18-years-old, and it was a 'really' painful experiences.
Gaga said that her experiences left her as a damaged individual as she had to bear problems like drugs, her sexuality and an eating disorder.
The 27-year-old singer revealed that she has an ability to experience and endure physical and mental pain for long periods of time.
She believed that it was because of her disciplined childhood, and her piano, theatre and dance lessons that gave her the ability to withstand pain.
