Before departing for China to attend first of its kind 'informal summit', Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a statement, said the two Asian giants will review development in the relations from a strategic and long-term perspective.

"President Xi and I will exchange views on a range of issues of bilateral and global importance. We will discuss our respective visions and priorities for national development, particularly in the context of current and future international situation," Prime Minister said in his departure note.

The Prime Minister further asserted that both the leaders will exchange views on a range of issues of bilateral and global importance.

"We will also review the developments in the India-China relations from a strategic and long-term perspective," the Prime Minister added.

Prime minister Modi is soon going to depart from the Palam airport in New Delhi for the Wuhan City in Beijing.

The meeting comes at a time when two sides are looking to "reset" ties, which suffered during the two-month Doklam standoff last year.
