In what may come as another blow to Real Madrid, star striker Karim Benzema is doubtful to play in next week's second leg of the Champions League semi-final tie against Manchester City after suffering a right hamstring injury.
Benzema played just first half of his side's goalless first leg clash against Manuel Pellegrini's side at the Etihad Stadium before being forced to withdraw at the half-time due to the injury.
According to the Guardian, Benzema was diagnosed with a muscle injury in his right hamstring and his recovery would continue to be assessed ahead of the Champions League's return leg.
Besides Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo, who was forced to sit on the bench in the first leg clash, might also miss next week's game against City due to a muscle injury.
