Sri Lankan fast bowler Dhammika Prasad, who has already been ruled out of the upcoming Test series, will now miss the ODI series against New Zealand as well after failing to fully recover from his back injury.
The 32-year-old suffered a back injury during his side's tour game against New Zealand Board President's XI in Queenstown.
Uncapped left-arm seamer Vishwa Fernando, who has already replaced Prasad in the Test squad against New Zealand, will now replace the right-arm fast bowler in the ODI team as well, Sport24 reported.
Meanwhile, Fernando, who is all set to play in the forthcoming series, had earlier featured in the Test squad to the UAE and Bangladesh in 2014, but did not get a team.
The two sides will play the two-match Test series from December 10 followed by five-match ODI series from December 26 at Hagley Oval.
