World No. 11 Gael Monfils is all set to undergo rehabilitation process to treat injuries to his patella and achilles heel.
While confirming the news, the French tennis star said that he underwent tests recently, which revealed a chondropathy in his patella and a tear in his heel.
"The exams that I did today have revealed a chondropathy of my left patella and a tear in my left achilles heel. I will start tomorrow a rehabilitation program and will do all it takes to recover as soon as possible," Sport24 quoted Monfils as saying.
Monfils struggled to play last week in Indian Wells, going down to Austrian Dominic Thiem 3-6, 2-6 in the last-16 round. He is also set to miss Miami Open beginning Tuesday.
