Two Bangladeshi citizens, who were among a group of foreign workers captured by the Islamic State (IS) in an attack on a Libyan oilfield, have reportedly been released after more than two weeks, the foreign ministry said.
At least 10 foreign workers went missing in the aftermath of the attack on the Al Ghani oilfield south of the city of Sirte, reported News 24.
Helal Uddin and Mohammed Anowar Hossain, who were freed by IS on Tuesday evening, will stay overnight at Sirte hospital, the foreign ministry said in a statement.
Foreigners are being targeted increasingly by the terror group in Libya, where two rival governments are vying for control, making way for extremists to gain ground.
Western nations have raised concerns that the North African state may just turn into yet another safe haven for IS. They are supporting UN negotiations to end the crisis in Libya.
