Isaiah Washington is set to reprise his role as Dr. Preston Burke on the ABC medical drama 'Grey's Anatomy', it has been revealed.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 50-year-old actor will be guest starring in an upcoming episode of the show that will see his former co-star Sandra Oh's exit.
Oh played Washington's love interest, Christina Yang, in the first three seasons of the show.
Rhimes said in a statement that it's important to her that Yang's journey unfolds exactly as it should and Burke is vital to that journey as he gives her story that full-circle moment they need to properly say goodbye to her.
Washington had left the show seven years ago after he was accused of using homophobic slurs in reference to gay co-star T.R. Knight.
