A necklace worth a staggering 1.9M euros has been stolen from an exclusive French Riviera hotel, in the second such jewellery heist during this year's Cannes Film Festival.
The expensive piece was stolen after a celebrity party at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in the resort town of Cap d'Antibes on Tuesday night, the BBC reported.
Swiss jeweller De Grisogono said in a statement that the theft occurred despite "large security measures", which included 80 security guards.
"It is actually the first time it has happened in our 20-year history," the company said in a statement.
The high-profile event, which celebrated the jeweller house's 20th anniversary, was attended by international movie stars like Sharon Stone and Ornella Muti.
Last Friday, thieves stole jewels by Swiss jewellers Chopard from the Novotel hotel.
