Pakistan violated ceasefire in the Nowshera sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri on late Sunday night.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri has confirmed that a ceasefire violation took place in the Baba Khori area of Rajouri's Nowshera at around 10:30 p.m.

"The ceasefire violation started around 10:30 p.m. using light weapons and medium machine gun (MMG)," DC Shahid Iqbal Chaudhary said.

Earlier on Saturday, the Indian and Pakistan Armies exchanged heavy fire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch after Pakistan violated ceasefire.

The Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked shelling and firing at Indian positions on the LoC in Digwar area of Poonch district at 7.30 p.m. on Saturday.
