Jammu police on Saturday assured that no violence has been reported so far in the ongoing fifth and final phase of Assembly elections in the state.
"There is lot of excitement and enthusiasm among people to vote. The people are coming out in large numbers despite the cold. We have made adequate security arrangements here, no violence has been reported so far," said Jammu Divisional Commissioner (DC)Ajit Kr.Sahu.
Meanwhile a voter in Rajouri also said that peaceful voting is underway as no violence has been seen here and there is a lot of enthusiasm among the voters.
In Jammu and Kashmir, voting is taking place for 20 Assembly seats in border district of Jammu, Kathua and Rajouri.
Five ministers of Omar Abdullah government along with 213 other candidates, and a number of former MPs and MLAs are in the fray. Voting, which started at 8 a.m., will end at 4 p.m.
