Jagmohan Dalmiya keen to correct mistakes due to spot fixing

Days after the spot-fixing scandal took the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) by storm, the Indian cricket board's interim boss Jagmohan Dalmiya on Monday said that the image of cricket had certainly taken a beating in light of the recent spot-fixing controversy but added that "we can either cry over spilt milk or do something about it".

When asked on how can the tarnished image be cured he Dalmiya said, "Wait and see what powers I have." "I will leave no stone unturned to clean up cricket. I was given a responsibility, and I thought I could not shy away,"

He also said that the cheerleaders and the IPL after-parties might be scrapped, but it is too early to make any decision right now.

However, he did confirm that Sanjay Jagdale has refused to come back to the BCCI and said that he would wait another 24 hours for Ajay Shirke to reconsider his decision.

As regards the Indian Premiere League the CAB president said that no decision has been taken yet. He added that scrapping the strategic time-out will also be considered.

He also added that a decision on India's representative at the ICC has not been taken yet. However, he clarified that it was up to him to decide on the matter.

When asked about some people questioning the legal credibility of the interim set up Dalmiya said that it was a matter of personal opinion.
