Jagmohan Dalmiya is set to return as the Board of Control for Cricket in India president after other candidates for the post pulled out ahead of the body's annual general meeting on Monday.
According to reports, Dalmiya's road to the post was cleared after another former BCCI president, Sharad Pawar, failed to gain a proposer from the East Zone, whose turn it is to nominate the president.
In January, the Supreme Court had barred former BCCI chief N Srinivasan from contesting the body's elections due to the conflict-of-interest with regard to the IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings. The apex court, however, cleared the former BCCI chief for his alleged cover-ups in the spot-fixing case.
However, Srinivasan has been granted permission to cast his vote at the AGM.
