The Janata Dal (United) on Friday hailed Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar statement that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar would be the credible face of an anti-BJP alliance in the next Lok Sabha polls.

"Sharad Pawar is among senior leaders in our country and I think that whatever he has expressed about what the situation of country is ? What is needed and the thoughts of the people. His statement is important for the country and the countrymen," JD(U) leader Ali Anwar told ANI.

Pawar today said that Nitish along with RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav have provided a political alternative to the people of Bihar.

Refuting reports that Law and Order situation in Bihar was on rise after the RJD came into power, Anwar clarified that situations were not created by the party.

"Everything is happening differently. See it is being told that it is (lawlessness) is because of RJD, see a member of RJD was killed. Last time the blame was on RJD and investigations were also conducted. Some incident happened to the sister of RJD member. It is not that RJD is creating such incidents, " he said.

However, condemning situation which brings bad name to Bihar, he said that such incidents were sad and investigations are carried out to punish the culprits.
